Labrador origins

Labradors didn't used to be these cuties (referring to the photos). They have a very interesting origin which has immensely impacted how they are now. They descend from the St. John's Water Dog, and (as you may have guessed) Were water dogs. This impacted the modern labrador's thick, dense fur. It also made them love water. The St. John's Water Dog is why some labradors have white patches on their front.
